Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on Thomas Partey for his outstanding performances this season, describing the midfielder as a “massive player” for the club. Despite being in the final year of his contract, Partey has remained a key figure in Arteta’s squad, starting all six of Arsenal’s Premier League matches this season.

Partey has battled with injuries in the past, but Arteta is impressed with the Ghana international’s current form, noting that he has worked hard to reach this level.

“He’s a key player for us, a massive player, and we can see that week in and week out,” Arteta said ahead of Arsenal’s upcoming match against Southampton. “The way he came back after holidays was probably the best condition he’s ever been in. Now, it’s about managing him.”

Arteta also emphasized Partey’s importance to the team but remained tight-lipped about the midfielder’s future at the club. “We need him. He’s a top player and important for us. You could see the other day on the pitch the impact that he can have for us,” Arteta said earlier this season.

As Arsenal look to continue their strong start to the campaign, Partey’s form will be crucial, both for the Gunners and for Ghana, as he prepares to join his national team for their upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Sudan.

The midfielder’s influence on Arsenal’s midfield is clear, and both the club and fans will be hoping he maintains his impressive performances as the season progresses.
