Facing Racism with Dignity
Yamal also addressed a more serious issue during the interview—the racist comments made by extreme-right figures towards both him and Williams.
Despite being born in Spain, their African heritage has made them targets for hateful remarks. Yamal, however, remains composed and confident in how they handle the situation.
“I don’t think it’s worth it to say anything to them,” Yamal said. He shared that he and Williams had spoken about the issue and decided that silence was the best response. “We know our education, our values. And there’s nothing left to say,” he added.
Yamal’s calm and mature approach to such a sensitive topic has resonated with fans, showing that he’s not only a talent on the field but also wise beyond his years.
