Former Arsenal star Adrian Clarke has called on the North London club to consider signing Ghanaian playmaker Mohammed Kudus in the upcoming January transfer window.
With Bukayo Saka sidelined for two months due to a hamstring injury, Clarke believes Kudus is the perfect player to fill the void and keep Arsenal competitive in their Premier League title charge.
Saka’s Absence: A Big Blow
Bukayo Saka has been instrumental for Arsenal this season, contributing five goals and ten assists in just 16 league appearances.
His combination of creativity, goal-scoring, and relentless work rate has made him indispensable for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Unfortunately, Saka sustained a hamstring injury during Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace on December 21, 2024, and he is expected to miss around two months after undergoing surgery.
Losing Saka is a significant setback for the Gunners, but Clarke sees a potential solution in Mohammed Kudus.
Why Kudus Is the Perfect Fit
Kudus, currently playing for West Ham, has proven himself as one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League.
Despite serving a five-game suspension earlier in the season, the 24-year-old has managed three goals and one assist in 13 league appearances.
His ability to dribble past defenders, carry the ball with precision, and contribute in attacking areas makes him a standout option.
“Kudus is an ideal replacement for Bukayo Saka,” said Clarke. “He’s a brilliant dribbler, a wonderful ball carrier, and can slot into Arsenal’s attacking system seamlessly. He’s exactly what the team needs to maintain their momentum.”
Kudus also brings versatility, capable of playing as a winger, attacking midfielder, or even a false nine. This adaptability could make him a valuable addition to Arteta’s squad, especially during Saka’s absence.
Arsenal’s Opportunity in the Transfer Market
Arsenal has long admired Kudus and now has a strong reason to act on that interest.
The Ghanaian international has been linked with a move to the Emirates in the past, and Saka’s injury might push Arsenal to finally make an offer.
However, Arsenal will need to move quickly. West Ham is unlikely to part with Kudus easily, and interest from other Premier League giants like Liverpool and Manchester City could complicate negotiations.
Kudus’ performances for both club and country underline his potential.
He ended 2024 as the player with the most successful dribbles completed across Europe’s top five leagues and has scored 11 goals in 34 appearances for Ghana.
His mix of technical skill and physicality has made him one of the most sought-after talents in Europe.
Clarke’s Call to Action
Adrian Clarke is urging Arsenal to seize the moment. “Kudus is the type of player who can make an immediate impact.
With Saka out, Arsenal needs someone who can bring the same energy and creativity to the attack. Kudus is the answer.”
As the January transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Arsenal.
Will they make a bold move for Kudus and strengthen their squad for the second half of the season? Fans will be eagerly watching to see if the Gunners can turn this challenging period into an opportunity to bolster their title ambitions.
