Chairman Wontumi Vows to Bring Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar & Vinicius to Asante Kotoko

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, better known as Chairman Wontumi, has made a jaw-dropping promise—he wants to bring Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., and Vinicius Jr. to play for Asante Kotoko before they retire!

Speaking on Wontumi Radio, the outspoken businessman and politician boldly declared his commitment to seeing these global superstars wear the red jersey of the Porcupine Warriors.

According to him, he is ready to invest heavily and use his influence to restore Kotoko’s dominance in African football.

“I will pay Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, and Vini to come and retire at Kotoko,” Wontumi said with confidence, insisting that his vision for the club is not just talk but something he truly intends to achieve.

“I Know I Will Be Kotoko Chairman One Day”

Wontumi, who once made headlines in 2022 for his interest in buying English Premier League giants Chelsea, believes it’s only a matter of time before he leads Kotoko.

He sees himself following in the footsteps of former Kotoko chairman Herbert Mensah, whose leadership brought the club both success and massive attention.

“I know that one day, I will be Kotoko chairman. And when that time comes, I will use money and aggression to make the team great again, just like Herbert Mensah did,” he said.

However, he admitted that his current political commitments with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) sometimes hold him back from serving Kotoko in the way he truly wants to.

“Because of the NPP, sometimes I don’t serve as I’m supposed to, but I still contribute in other ways,” he explained.

Wontumi made it clear that his plans for Kotoko are not just about bringing in big names but about transforming the club’s entire structure to ensure lasting success.

“We all saw what Herbert did, and I will apply all of that with a bit of pride. The level I will take Kotoko to, everyone will see. But just as Jesus told Mary, ‘It’s not my time yet,’ I will also say that it’s not my turn yet.”
