Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo is calling on Ghanaians to rally behind the Black Stars as they gear up for two crucial World Cup qualifiers in March.
Semenyo has been in red-hot form this season, netting nine goals across all competitions for the Cherries. His seven Premier League goals put him among Bournemouth’s top scorers, only trailing Justin Kluivert, who has 12.
Since making his Black Stars debut in 2022, Semenyo has become a key figure in the squad, representing Ghana at the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Now, with Ghana set to face Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the 24-year-old is calling on fans to stand by the team.
“We’ve got our World Cup qualifiers coming up against Chad and Madagascar. I just want to say, continue praying for us, continue supporting us. We need you now more than ever,” Semenyo shared in a message via the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The Black Stars will host Chad on March 21 in Accra before traveling to take on Madagascar three days later.
Currently sitting second in Group I, level on points with leaders Comoros, Ghana needs back-to-back wins to boost their chances of making it to the World Cup.
Acknowledging the pressure, Semenyo added: “These two games are massive for our qualification hopes. Please keep praying for us, keep supporting us, and be there for us in March. We need you in the stands, and hopefully, we can deliver two big wins.”
Ghana’s recent form has been concerning, with the team failing to win a game since June 2024 and missing out on AFCON 2025 qualification. With nine months without a victory, the upcoming matches offer a golden opportunity to bounce back and reignite their World Cup dreams.
