Fiorentina striker Moise Kean has been discharged from the hospital after a frightening collapse during his team’s match against Hellas Verona.
The 24-year-old was rushed to the hospital after suffering a head injury that left fans and players in shock.
Kean Collapses After Head Clash
The scary moment unfolded during Sunday’s match when Kean collided with Hellas Verona defenders Pawel Dawidowicz and Diego Coppola while challenging for the ball. Dawidowicz’s knee struck Kean in the head, leaving him with a gash above his eye.
Despite receiving medical attention and being cleared to continue, Kean suddenly collapsed in the 67th minute, lying motionless on the pitch. Medical staff rushed onto the field as concern grew among his teammates and fans.
He was quickly given oxygen, placed in a neck brace, and stretchered off before being taken to a hospital in Verona for further evaluation.
Fiorentina Provide Health Update
On Monday morning, Fiorentina confirmed that Kean had undergone multiple tests, all of which came back clear. The club stated that he was discharged from the hospital and had returned to Florence to recover.
“Moise Kean was discharged from the Verona hospital during the night and has returned to Florence. The clinical and diagnostic tests carried out were all negative,” Fiorentina’s statement read.
Late Drama Seals Fiorentina’s Defeat
After the game resumed, Hellas Verona snatched a dramatic 95th-minute winner through Antoine Bernede, securing a crucial 1-0 victory. The result pushed Verona three places up the Serie A table, while Fiorentina remained in sixth.
Kean’s Strong Season and Fiorentina’s Recent Health Scares
Kean, who joined Fiorentina from Juventus in a deal worth up to £14.9 million, has been in fine form this season, scoring 19 goals in 29 appearances.
His collapse marks the second major health scare for Fiorentina this season, following midfielder Edoardo Bove’s cardiac arrest during a match against Inter Milan in December. While Kean’s situation wasn’t as severe, the incident was a stark reminder of the physical toll footballers endure on the pitch.
