Pep Guardiola has fired up his Manchester City squad with a passionate call for “incredible courage” as they head into a massive Champions League clash against Real Madrid.
Man City faces a tough task at the Santiago Bernabeu, trailing 3-2 from the first leg, but Guardiola remains confident his team can turn things around.
Speaking to the media ahead of the decisive match, the City boss urged his players to stay fearless and stick to their attacking style. “Play with courage. Be yourself,” Guardiola said. “I learned that as a young player when things didn’t go our way. That’s how you overcome challenges.”
In a major boost for City, Guardiola confirmed that Erling Haaland, Nathan Ake, Jack Grealish, and Ruben Dias are all fit and part of the traveling squad.
He also stressed the importance of consistency, particularly for Grealish, as City enters a crucial phase of the season.
Defending his team’s defensive strength despite recent struggles, Guardiola pointed to City’s track record in England and his own ability to find solutions. “I’ve been doing this for 13, 14 years, and I always find a way,” he said.
With the second leg set for Wednesday, February 19, at 21:00 CET, City is focused on making the right adjustments and fighting for a place in the Champions League last 16. The stage is set, the pressure is on, and Guardiola’s men know exactly what’s at stake.
