Jordan Ayew has made an instant impact at Leicester City by winning the club’s Goal of the Month award for August.
The Ghanaian forward’s stunning long-range strike in the EFL Cup clash against Tranmere Rovers captured the hearts of Foxes fans, earning him the top spot in the monthly poll.
Ayew’s Early Impact at Leicester City
After moving from Crystal Palace to Leicester City in late August, Ayew wasted no time making his mark. He made his debut in a Premier League match against Fulham, coming off the bench in a 2-1 loss.
However, it was in the EFL Cup game against Tranmere Rovers that Ayew truly announced himself to Leicester fans.
Starting for the first time, Ayew scored a stunning goal from outside the box, opening the scoring in Leicester’s comfortable 4-0 win over the League Two side.
Not only did he find the back of the net, but he also set up Wilfred Ndidi for one of the other goals, as Stephy Mavididi and Harry Winks added their names to the scoresheet.
Fans Vote Ayew’s Goal as the Best in August
The 32-year-old’s brilliant strike against Tranmere saw off competition from other great goals by his teammates to be crowned Leicester City’s Goal of the Month for August.
Fans were clearly impressed with his long-range effort, voting it as the best goal in the club’s official poll.

Ayew Aims for More After International Break
After his success at Leicester, Ayew returned to international duty with Ghana for their 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
He started in the Black Stars’ 1-0 defeat to Angola but was left on the bench for their 1-1 draw against Niger.
With the international break over, Ayew will be hoping to keep his place in Leicester City’s starting line-up when they face his former club, Crystal Palace, in the Premier League.
Having already contributed one goal and one assist in just three matches for the Foxes, Ayew is looking to build on his early success and continue to make an impact for Steve Cooper’s side as the season progresses.
